2011 Northeast Utilities Connecticut Regional
Day 1
Our second regional of the 2011 season was the Connecticut Regional, which occurred on April 1st and 2nd at Hartford, CT. We made some significant improvements on our robot between Granite State and Hartford, including a new, faster minibot. This required serious pit work that extended into our qualifying matches. So, our robot was broken through our first four matches. After lunch, though, we finished all improvements. We won the rest of our day 1 matches, and ended the day in the middle of the pack in seed ranking.
Great. Why isn't it working?

Day 2
With our robot fully working, Team 20 went into high gear on Saturday morning, winning 3 out of 4 preliminary matches. Our minibot consistantly won the minibot race, and we were able to score a full logo in a match.
Meeting with the Shaker mascot
Come alliance selection time, we were picked by Team 383 (Provincia Team and the Brazilian Machine from Provincia, Brazil) and Team 694 ( Stuypulse from Stuyvesant High School - congrats on Chairman's!).

The drivers of our alliance
Our first match in the elimination round was against the tough 2nd seed alliance, featuring Bobcat Robotics ( Team 177), last year's world champion. Though we lost, everyone on our alliance fought valiantly. The Brazilian Machine even woke up from a stupor just in time to launch its minibot and score us 30 points. Thanks to Teams 383 and 694 for picking us and for being great alliance partners! Also, congrats to Teams 195, 1923, and 155 for their win!
